NetBeans IDE version 6.5 has added PHP into its arsenal of supported languages. NetBeans, like Eclipse, started out as an integrated development environment for creating Java applications. The NetBeans IDE now has support for creating software using different languages like C/C++, Ruby, Java, J2ME, JavaFX and recently Javascript and PHP. The addition of support for PHP is exciting because not only is PHP the most used scripting language on the Net, it also offers a low learning curve and very easy to use powerful language for creating web applications.
If you want to create PHP, Java, Javascript, Ruby, J2ME, C or C++ applications and you are using Ubuntu Linux you can use NetBeans as your integrated development environment (IDE). Version 6.5 even provides enhanced support for several web frameworks like Hibernate, Spring, JSF and JPA. Trying out or installing the latest version of NetBeans IDE on Ubuntu Linux desktop edition can be easily done by following these simple steps.

Looks to me like a lot of people wants to get hold of the Android-based G1 mobile phone (me included) ‘coz T-Mobile just sold 1.5 million of them on pre-order alone. And to top that T-Mobile has ordered another 2 million from HTC (wow, looks like HTC is going to have a wonderful Christmas).

The G1 mobile phone is expected to hit the shelves in a week or so. Even though people have expressed some dissatisfaction with the first Android-base mobile phone’s features 1.5 million people have still pre-ordered the cell phone.
Once it hit the shelves, it would really be interesting to see what people will do with the mobile phone. I’m sure some guys are just itching to get their orders to start hacking the phone.

This next sequel to the Asphalt Racing mobile J2ME games from Gameloft is great. Better than the last Asphalt 3 mobile game which I played a lot. If you’re still contemplating on whether to buy the Asphalt 4: Elite Racing mobile game, stop hesitating and just buy the Asphalt 4 mobile game.
Starting off with the graphics of Asphalt 4: Elite Racing, even the menu has better graphics than the older Asphalt 3. The scenes are now in 3D. The 3D renders look good on the SE mobile phone I’m using. The buildings and race path are much better than the flat 2D look in Asphalt 3.

I love this mobile game, this is one game that I would add to my list. I have to admit that I like playing billiards — think of the entertaining ways to apply practical geometry in everyday game play. Really this is one game that relaxes me. Another would be playing Wimbledon 2008.

Over the week end I got a copy of the mobile Java game from EA mobile called Command and Conquer 3 – Tiberium Wars. I love playing strategy games on the PC and Command and Conquer is one of them so I was very curious how it was on the mobile phone.

While going thru my mail this morning, I came across a tutorial for a crash course on creating mobile Java games. The tutorial is clear and simple and discusses in a step by step manner on how to create mobile Java games. The author, Anders, actually does it by going thru an example of a mobile game that he created.

The Bourne Conspiracy mobile Java game from Vivendi Games Mobile is action packed from the very start. It’s been a while since I got to play games on my mobile phone so it’s kinda great to have some time once more to play mobile games.
