HTC Flyer 3G price in the Philippines (Android)

Another Android powered tablet has arrived in the Philippines in the form of the HTC Flyer. This Android tablet runs on Android 2.3.3 OS though. I wonder if HTC is going to provide an update to the newer Android 3.0 for tablets. It’s currently priced at about Php 30,000+.

It is powered with a 1.5Ghz processor. The 7-inch screen has a resolution of 1024 x 600. It has a 5-megapixel primary camera with autofocus and a secondary front camera for video calls. The one I found is equipped with 3G but has no voice capabilities unlike the Samsung Galaxy Tab P1000.

Three powerful dual-core Android phones for the Philippines

By the end of June 2011, the Philippines will get three super Android phones all of which are powered by dual-core processors. The three dual-core Android phones are the HTC Sensation (coming this June), Samsung Galaxy S II (also coming this June) and the just released LG Optimus 2X.

Mobile phones are fast evolving into small powerful computers and pretty soon most of us won’t feel the need to use a regular desktop computer. All these phones run Android 2.3 also known as the Gingerbread version. Each one has at least 4-inches of display area running at 1-Ghz or more of CPU power. Of course, it has all the basic specs that you’d expect from phones of this caliber like — GPS, bluetooth, dual cameras, Wifi, 3G, internal storage and a lot more.

HTC Wildfire S Android phone arrives in Philippine stores

The HTC Wildfire S is the second Android phone to reach the Philippine market. The first one being the HTC Desire S. If you’re looking to replace your old HTC Wildfire, you can now get your hands on the Wildfire S. Aside from the outside looks, there isn’t actually much in terms of hardware. The most obvious improvement is the display which is now a 320×480 instead of the 240×320 pixel screen. Bluetooth is now version 3.0 compared to v2.1 for the HTC Wildfire.

HTC Desire S android phone now in the Philippines

Looks like HTC has made available the Android powered HTC Desire S mobile phone in the Philippines. Found it in one of the local shops and it’s priced at 22,000 pesos. The HTC Desire is an upgrade path for those who have the HTC Desire. One thing different that I’ve noticed is the presence of a second front camera — something that isn’t present in the original HTC Desire.

It’s been a while since I’ve made an updated list of the available Android mobile phones in the Philippines. It looks like some more Android phones have already started to find its way in cell phone shops.

Samsung and HTC Android mobile phones are in the Philippines

The Android open mobile platform initiated by Google is one very exciting mobile operating system that I have been following. Mainly because it’s open source and the operating system core is based on Linux. I’ve recently gone to different mobile phone shops in the Philippines to check out whether Android based mobile phones are starting to appear at the shops. After my trips, I’m a bit happy and sad from what I have found. Here’s why.

T-Mobile just sold 1.5M Android-based G1 mobile phone

Looks to me like a lot of people wants to get hold of the Android-based G1 mobile phone (me included) ‘coz T-Mobile just sold 1.5 million of them on pre-order alone. And to top that T-Mobile has ordered another 2 million from HTC (wow, looks like HTC is going to have a wonderful Christmas).

The G1 mobile phone is expected to hit the shelves in a week or so. Even though people have expressed some dissatisfaction with the first Android-base mobile phone’s features 1.5 million people have still pre-ordered the cell phone.

Once it hit the shelves, it would really be interesting to see what people will do with the mobile phone. I’m sure some guys are just itching to get their orders to start hacking the phone.
