Android SDK 1.1 release 1 now available

android robotThe Android development team has just made available version 1.1 release 1 of the Android SDK. This is inline with the recent updates to Android devices providing new features and functionality. API changes are quite minor. Several items have been fixed, some new features for the Map and dialer have been added, plus several API changes. You can check out the release notes.

How to setup Netbeans for Android development

When Google released the Android open mobile platform, they have made an Eclipse plugin to be able to develop Android software using the Eclipse IDE. If you’re a Netbeans user, don’t worry because you can use Netbeans for creating Android applications also. Game developer/publisher travels to space

Richard Garriot, game developer and publisher (of the Ultima series of video games), is now well on his way to visit the International Space Spacestation onboard the Soyuz TMA-12 spacecraft.

I just loved playing his games especially the video game called The Privateer (wonder if I still have the game and if it will run on Wine. He sure made a bundle selling video games ‘coz I think he paid about 30 million US dollars for the space trip. He’s the very first space tourist who is a game developer.

T-mobile opens up it’s devPartner community site

T-mobile has recently opened up its developer community site called devPartner. The T-mobile developer provides a way of bridging the gap between it’s subscriber base and the mobile developer community. The developer program, dubbed “stick together®”, provides support for mobile phones used by its subscribers and a testing and certification process for mobile applications.
