Just days away to the first Android phone
I’m a bit eager in waiting for the first Android mobile phone to come out. I’ve been reading that it’s coming out on the last week of September or early October.

I’ve been holding off on buying my next mobile phone for quite a while to be able to choose from the Nokia E71, the Apple iPhone 3G and the upcoming HTC Dream which has Google’s Android installed (been reading that it’s coming out on September 23 in the US).

First of all, I hope we can get some better photos of the HTC Dream — side by side with the Nokia E71 and the Apple iPhone it’s a goner!
When Apple came out with the first generation of iPod nano, I love the form factor and the slim design. I think it was awesome and the sweet spot for a music player design. With Nokia already owning about 48% of the Symbian company, they have made an offer to buyout the other owners (Sony Ericsson, Samsung and others). This is in addition to its recent buying spree — they just bought a Social Network startup called Plazes.
Looks like it’s good to go! Innaworks, a New Zealand company, has entered the beta testing period for their alcheMo product. It enables standard J2ME applications to run on the iPhone and iPod.
With the recent release of the software development kit (SDK) for the Apple iPhone, Sun has announced it’s plan to come up with a Java virtual machine (JVM) for the iPhone.
Apple has released Java 6 SE Developer Preview 8 for it’s Mac OS X Leopard operating system. This should be good news to Java developer’s who have long been waiting for the official release.
