I’ve noticed that the Android based Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc S, which is an incremental upgrade of the Xperia S, is now available locally. The Xperia Arc S is almost the same as its predecessor.
The couple of differences I see are the bump up in processor speed (from 1Ghz to 1.4Ghz) and the increase in data speeds (from 7Gbps to 14Gbps). All other specs have remained the same as the previous Xperia Arc.

Sony Ericsson had a slow start introducing Android mobile phones in the local Philippine market. But now their making up for it. Several Android Gingerbread bearing mobile phones are now available in the local market just in time for the holiday season shopping.
The newest Sony Ericsson Android mobile phones like the Sony Ericsson Xperia Pro, Xperia Neo V, Xperia Play, Xperia Ray, Xperia Live w/ Walkman and Xperia Active should now be found in mobile phone shops in Metro Manila.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 Android tablet has finally started to become available in mobile shops in the Philippines. One shop is selling the 16GB wifi/3G version for Php 25,490.00 and the 32GB wifi/3G version for about 29,990.00.
The specifications of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 is similar to the specs of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 with the exception of the display size but still having a resolution of 1280 x 800. The smaller 8.9-inch display produces a better looking image using that same 1280 x 800 resolution.

Wow, just found out that the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 with 3G is now available in the Philippines. The Galaxy Tab 10.1 uses the Android 3.0 open mobile platform also known as Honeycomb. It has a screen resolution of 1280 x 800 10.1 inch display.

Cherry Mobile Orbit is going to be on sale on June 30 for only Php6,499 (a 50% discount) at Cherry Mobile stores. The Cherry Mobile Orbit is a dual SIM Android phone that is available locally. The Orbit’s unique feature is that it supports 3.5G data speeds. The sale is limited to one unit per customer only.

Another Android powered tablet has arrived in the Philippines in the form of the HTC Flyer. This Android tablet runs on Android 2.3.3 OS though. I wonder if HTC is going to provide an update to the newer Android 3.0 for tablets. It’s currently priced at about Php 30,000+.
It is powered with a 1.5Ghz processor. The 7-inch screen has a resolution of 1024 x 600. It has a 5-megapixel primary camera with autofocus and a secondary front camera for video calls. The one I found is equipped with 3G but has no voice capabilities unlike the Samsung Galaxy Tab P1000.
