I’ve just read this news about Google’s Android Market reaching it’s 10 billion download. But I have this crazy idea that this is not enough. They need to do something to really make Android and the Android Market work for the global audience — that is add Prepaid / Gift Card functionality to the Android Market ecosystem.

I was able to borrow one of those KIRF (Keeping it Real Fake) iPhone 4. I decided to take some photos of the fake iPhone 4 side by side with the real thing. I must say, it’s really hard to spot the difference between the two by just physically looking at it.
When I got to hold the fake iPhone 4, I noticed that it was a bit lighter than the real iPhone 4. The thing that gave away its fakiness is when I started to turn on the iPhone. It doesn’t have the Retina display of the real thing among other things.

I’ve noticed that the Android based Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc S, which is an incremental upgrade of the Xperia S, is now available locally. The Xperia Arc S is almost the same as its predecessor.
The couple of differences I see are the bump up in processor speed (from 1Ghz to 1.4Ghz) and the increase in data speeds (from 7Gbps to 14Gbps). All other specs have remained the same as the previous Xperia Arc.

I’m finally found some time to buy the Mac OS X Lion upgrade and download (it’s a 3.5GB download!) it this week. After several hours of waiting for the download to finish and doing the upgrade in less than an hour, the upgrade was mostly uneventful and went smoothly.
One thing that stands out when I start using Mac OS X Lion? — it’s the need to “reprogram” my fingers to use the new scroll-up/scroll-down gestures! It took some getting used to but in the end it feels more “right”. Although, I still have to adjust to it when I use a computer mouse.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 Android tablet has finally started to become available in mobile shops in the Philippines. One shop is selling the 16GB wifi/3G version for Php 25,490.00 and the 32GB wifi/3G version for about 29,990.00.
The specifications of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 is similar to the specs of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 with the exception of the display size but still having a resolution of 1280 x 800. The smaller 8.9-inch display produces a better looking image using that same 1280 x 800 resolution.
