I’m finally found some time to buy the Mac OS X Lion upgrade and download (it’s a 3.5GB download!) it this week. After several hours of waiting for the download to finish and doing the upgrade in less than an hour, the upgrade was mostly uneventful and went smoothly.
One thing that stands out when I start using Mac OS X Lion? — it’s the need to “reprogram” my fingers to use the new scroll-up/scroll-down gestures! It took some getting used to but in the end it feels more “right”. Although, I still have to adjust to it when I use a computer mouse.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 Android tablet has finally started to become available in mobile shops in the Philippines. One shop is selling the 16GB wifi/3G version for Php 25,490.00 and the 32GB wifi/3G version for about 29,990.00.
The specifications of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 is similar to the specs of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 with the exception of the display size but still having a resolution of 1280 x 800. The smaller 8.9-inch display produces a better looking image using that same 1280 x 800 resolution.

Wow, just found out that the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 with 3G is now available in the Philippines. The Galaxy Tab 10.1 uses the Android 3.0 open mobile platform also known as Honeycomb. It has a screen resolution of 1280 x 800 10.1 inch display.
Got my Google+ invite today. I think it’s going to be the first social service from Google that I will actually use besides eMail. Google+ has several features you’d expect from a social software like streams, photo/video/link sharing and group chat.
One awesome feature that I like about Google+ is called Circles. I think that it’s the closest representation to human social interaction. If you’ve used JoinDiaspora, it’s similar to its Aspect feature. All the social networking software that i’ve used so far, except Google+ and JoinDiaspora, does not allow multiple channel relationships which I believe is an essential ingredient to a good social software. Not even Facebook has it — yes you can classify people into lists but that’s just about what you can do.

If you have a computer running Mac OS X, chances are you have downloaded files from the Apple support web site. You can actually verify the integrity of these support files using a simple script.
You have two options on how to update your Mac OS X. The first option is using the Software Update program accessible via the Apple icon. The second option is by downloading the updates via the Apple Support download site. I have actually resorted to the second option a number of times because of errors I get using the Software Update program.

The sale is limited to one unit per customer only.

Another Android powered tablet has arrived in the Philippines in the form of the HTC Flyer. This Android tablet runs on Android 2.3.3 OS though. I wonder if HTC is going to provide an update to the newer Android 3.0 for tablets. It’s currently priced at about Php 30,000+.
It is powered with a 1.5Ghz processor. The 7-inch screen has a resolution of 1024 x 600. It has a 5-megapixel primary camera with autofocus and a secondary front camera for video calls. The one I found is equipped with 3G but has no voice capabilities unlike the Samsung Galaxy Tab P1000.
