LG Optimus 2x dual-core android phone now in the Philippines

I have been following the releases of Android phones in the Philippines. Now I’m happy to write that the first dual-core smartphone World Guinness Records title holder, the LG Optimus 2X also known as the LG P990, is now available in the Philippines. The Android phone has version 2.2 (Froyo) installed but is upgradable to Android Gingerbread.

The LG Optimus 2X Android mobile phone has a 1GHz ARM dual-core CPU and GeForce GPU plus Tegra 2 chipset. The display is a 4-inch 480×800 pixel IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen capable of displaying 16M colors and is made of Gorilla glass. It has 512MB RAM and internal 8GB of storage plus a microSD cardslot for upto 32GB extra storage.

The main camera is an 8-megapixel autofocus type with LED flash while it has a 1.3-megapixel front camera. It supports 1080p video at 24fps and 720p at 30fps. It has multi-touch, an acceleerometer, proximity sensor, gyro sensor, 3.5mm headphone jack, loudspeaker, HDMI port, stereo FM with RDS and GPS w/ A-GPS support.

It has quadband GSM and tri-band 3G/HSDPA frequencies. For data, it supports GPRS, EDGE, 3G, 3.5G HSDPA, HSUPA, Wifi 802.11b/g/n, bluetooth w/ A2DP and microUSB v2.0.

Of course you’ll have Google Maps, Gmail, Google Talk, YouTube and Google Android market on it. Other software features include face/smile detection, touch focus and geo-tagging. Adobe Flash 10.1 is also supported.

And guess what, the price is at about Php 26,000 pesos. Sounds good, ain’t it?
