Mac OS X gets Safari and security updates

Just got an update to Mac OS X today. The update comprises of two things and are both security related. The security fixes involves updating the Safari web browser and SSL certificate blacklisting. If you’re a Mac OS X user too, I suggest you get this update.

The security fix seems to stem from, as Apple describes it:

An attacker with a privileged network position may intercept user credentials or other sensitive information

Description: Several fraudulent SSL certificates were issued by a Comodo affiliate registration authority. This may allow a man-in-the-middle attacker to redirect connections and intercept user credentials or other sensitive information. This issue is addressed by blacklisting the fraudulent certificates.

This is an important update because without this update, using the Safari can allow a hacker to intercept sensitive information like passwords. Read more about Apple security updates here.
