I’ve finally gotten Uzzap to work. It turned out that my registration to Smart Uzzap failed and wasn’t saved to the Smart Uzzap server. I’ve re-registered and finally gotten to login.
The first thing that I noticed upon logging into the Uzzap service was that it was more responsive than the Globe Unlichat service. One reason may because I’m using Uzzap via a wifi connection (you can only use a mobile phone network with Globe’s Unlichat).
One of the things I like about Uzzap is that you can also use it via a wireless lan connection and not just over GPRS or 3G. After connecting to Uzzap a screen with several icons that provides access to several of the application’s features.
I quickly realize that Smart’s Uzzap is more than just a plain Yahoo Instant messenger gateway. It also allows you to connect MSN using your account.
Uzzap features an online chat function that reminds me of IRC. You can join channels and chat with other Uzzap online members. One feature of the chat function is called “whisper” which allows you to privately chat with another online person.
From what I’ve gather, Smart plans to offer the public chat function as a free service and only charge for whisper sessions. Any Smart staff or personnel who would care to confirm this?
Although I’ve not tried it, there’s a feature called Buddy Matching which matches entries of people in your address book with your online buddies.
The Uzzap application also has some extra features like “theming” which allows you to change the color scheme of the Uzzap software on your mobile phone.
Although still in beta, the service is already much more responsive than Globe Unlichat. When I used unlichat, I had to wait for about 10 seconds to see the other person’s typed messages. On Uzzap, it only takes about a second.
The application has it’s glitches, like the initial problems I had with registration plus sometimes the function key labels at the bottom of the mobile phone screen doesn’t get displayed and the applications hangs up so I had to restart it.
Overall though, I’d say Globe has some serious catching up to do with their Unlichat service. And if Smart does intend to offer free online public chatting over the mobile phone network this would really be something to see!

I like Uzzap more too…and Im a Globe subscriber! I hope Globe just buys YMTiny and scrap Unlichat althogether. Because I am never paying P25 per day for such an unreliable chat service.

why is that when i register to uzzap, it always says “failed to connect” eventhough i have a load? is it because im not a smart buddy user? i am a TalkNTxt subscriber fyi. i already installed uzzap in my nika N73 phone…

wanna ask?, when i know UZZAP i get registered ryt away to my phone, i MAKE NEW YAHOO ID which was not registered in computer i directly make a new YAHOO ID in my phone THEN REGISTERED AND log in to UZZAP thats y i failed to log in. And when i make new id from computer i log in to UZZAP again i cant log in , its said MY MOBILE WAS ALREADY REGISTERED. PLEASE HELP ME ON THIS TO THE CONCERN PEOPLE. I REALLY WANNA BE A UZZAP USER.DO I NEED TO BUY NEW SIMCARD?CUZ MY OLD PHONE # WAS BEING REG ALREADY.

I have a simlpe problem with regards to this Uzzap.
I’m a globe user and got curious if Uzzap is capable on my sim.
I have successfully registered and I already logged in the network.
My problem is that, will I ever be able to connect in Yahoo Chat? Because still, I can’t at the moment.
how can i change my user ID? i want to change it. pls. help me
i already have uzzap on my samsung j200.. but not all icons are shown on mine.. there are no themes, body matching, silent mode and battery saving mode.. and also.. i don’t know how to use the “phone to pc chatting”.. can i also use this even though i don’t have a load???
