T-mobile opens up it’s devPartner community site
T-mobile has recently opened up its developer community site called devPartner. The T-mobile developer provides a way of bridging the gap between it’s subscriber base and the mobile developer community. The developer program, dubbed “stick together®”, provides support for mobile phones used by its subscribers and a testing and certification process for mobile applications.
Some of the devPartner community features include:
- Access to developer tools and resources and requirements for building for T-Mobile
- Assistance in selecting the right device based on the device attributes or what’s popular
- Market insight about our subscribers and how you can appeal to their needs
- A community of peers and answers from T-Mobile in our forums
- Support through our Knowledgebase, FAQ and answers from T-Mobile Support Engineers via our optional paid support ticket system
With a customer base of about 30 million subscribers and growing, they have been focusing on creating a well-connected family of subscribers that will steadily grow in terms of network usage.
With the pending release of it’s newest Android-based mobile phone using the HTC Dream, this triggers a new frontier for the T-mobile network as it starts opening it’s doors to outside developers.
