Asphalt 4: Elite Racing mobile game
This next sequel to the Asphalt Racing mobile J2ME games from Gameloft is great. Better than the last Asphalt 3 mobile game which I played a lot. If you’re still contemplating on whether to buy the Asphalt 4: Elite Racing mobile game, stop hesitating and just buy the Asphalt 4 mobile game.
Starting off with the graphics of Asphalt 4: Elite Racing, even the menu has better graphics than the older Asphalt 3. The scenes are now in 3D. The 3D renders look good on the SE mobile phone I’m using. The buildings and race path are much better than the flat 2D look in Asphalt 3.
The animation is fast on my mobile phone. If fact when the car starts speeding up, it’s kinda hard to keep up because of the keys on the SE mobile phone (hmmm, if only I could attach a steering wheel on my mobile phone). The frame rate was fast enough for me to notice any jerky movements in the animation.
Gameplay is definitely an improvement not only with the graphics. For the impatient, you can choose the quick race mode to jump right in and start playing. Or you can play for the long haul and choose the “career” mode of gameplay.
Once you get started, you have the option to choose your car or motorbike. The availability of the car or motorbike depends on your level. They are unlocked once you reach a certain level and win in a race or task. Of course you will also have to have enough money to purchase a new car or motorbike. Don’t worry, once you start winning races, money will never be a problem.
One exciting thing about the Asphalt 4 racing game is the Tuning (well aside from choosing from the gorgeous girls of course). Tuning has a pletora of selections and every improvement on your race car will mean a higher probability of winning any race you encounter. And it also costs money to upgrade into the latest tuning options when they become available. Availability is also dependent on what you have accomplished so far into the mobile game. Tuning offers you to change your car’s color, rims, tires, nitro, engine, break, transmission, suspension, weight, (hmmm, missing computer from Asphalt 3?).
When you’ve purchase your car, upgraded to the best available tuning options, you can start racing. Racing will bring you to a lot of places around the world — US, Dubai, Paris, Shanghai to name some of them. There are also different types of races — normal race against several opponents, “last man standing” race, timed race, “cop” race, duel.
The normal race is the plain vanilla race, you win if you place in at least third spot. In “last man standing”, you’ll have to destroy the cars of your opponents before finishing the laps.
Timed race is simply getting to the finish line before a minimum time limit. The “cop” race is something new. Don’t remember having it in Asphalt 3: Street Rules mobile game. In the “cop” race, you’re the police instead of the race car driver and your goal is to catch up with the race leader and his car. You’d better be fast during the “cop” race ‘coz the race leader is no green thumb. You’ll have to catch him before he reaches the finish line after three laps. The “duel” is a one on one race against the best in the location — winning the duel normally unlocks a new car or bike.
The new Asphalt 4: Elite Racing mobile Java game is pretty exciting and I’d say better than the older Asphalt 3: Street Rules game. Tip: Better learn to drift if you wanna win the races. Overall is a great game!
