Mobile Open Office at last!
A mobile version of the open-source Open Office software suite is now in the works. I’ve been waiting for this for quite a while and I think a lot of you also. With all the thrust nowadays in the mobile world, we would surely need some mobile version of an office suite.
The mobile version of Open Office project, called mOOo, is hosted at java.net. The objective of the project is to create a set of software to enable mobile device users to create/update ODF documents. I’ll initially settle for doc and spreadsheet readers and an impress viewer guys.
They have initially created an Impress controller which I’m sure deserves a warm welcome to a lot of OO users. If you want to help out, you can join the project. You can initially help out by testing the Impress controller on your mobile phones.
Thanks guys, I’ll try to test it on my mobile phone when it’s working for Open Office v2.3.
