Gameloft’s XIII 2 mobile game

XIII 2 Screenshot 1Wow! Just finished playing with XIII 2. This action game shooter from Gameloft with it’s comics-like graphics is such a challenge that you would want to finish the game to the end.

In the mobile game world where 3D is fast becoming a norm (just did 3 posts on Sony Ericsson mobile phones and they all have 3D support, it’s probably not too far away when they start putting dual cores on mobile phones), XIII 2′s approach of using comics style graphics is a respite to my eyes.

Gameloft has even put in place a story line that makes you feel like you’re reading some comic strips and would want to know what will happen to the character XIII in the next chapter. In the second sequel of the Java mobile game, XIII and his friends were framed and arrangements have been made so that they can testify against the people who did it. The adventure begins as they make their trek from Mexico to the US. XIII and friends would have to overcome all the numerous attempts to terminate them by the villains.

During the course of attaining the objective in the game you need to also collect silver and gold coins along the way. These coins are what you will use to be able to upgrade XIII. Upgrades range from extra health, kevlar to unlimited ammo. Moving through the obstacles is quite easy but still challenging because of the different ways you will encounter your enemy.

Overall, the XIII 2 mobile game is exciting to play even for the second time around — Yup, I just had to play it one more time to get all those upgrades ;-)
